Course Description
The BSB50215 Diploma of Business reflects the role of individuals with substantial experience in a range of settings who are seeking to further develop their skills across a wide range of business functions. This qualification is also suited to the needs of individuals with little or no vocational experience, but who possess sound theoretical business skills and knowledge that they would like to develop in order to create further educational and employment opportunities.
Course Purpose
This course has been specifically designed to equip you with the necessary skills to start, run or manage any business. You’ll learn how to manage meetings, lead projects and understand marketing and HR.
Qualification Requirements
To successfully complete this qualification, you require eight units of competence. These eight units are all elective units.

- The Estimated Duration is calculated on your studying for at least 10 hours per week in that unit. The Total is calculated on a continuous study pattern of one unit at a time. You could reduce the total duration by enrolling in more than one unit and/or increasing your study time each week.

Duration
The notional duration for this program is 410 hours. The estimated duration shown in the table above could be shortened to around 29 weeks if you could study for a at least 14 hours per week, however, this figure may end up much lower or higher depending on your particular circumstances.
Assessment Description
Participants will be required to complete written assignment work to demonstrate their acquired knowledge and understanding. Primary assessment will involve real and simulated business tasks.
Each unit usually requires 3 written assessments to be completed. These are detailed in the assessment section of the online content, or in the learning guide if you have purchased a hard copy. PLEASE NOTE: The 4th assessment is not required to be done for a standard enrolment, however, it may be used as part evidence in an RPL assessment.
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is also available.
Entry Requirements
There are no designated entry requirements for this course. However, the preferred pathway for candidates considering this qualification is BSB40215 Certificate IV in Business. Candidates are also preferred to already be employed in industry.
However, you will need a sound working knowledge of basic maths, e.g. addition, subtraction, division and multiplication and be able to read, write and understand standard business English. You must also be able to send and receive emails with attachments and install software. You may also need to download files using a web browser.
You will also need access to a computer which has, or on which you are able to install, and will run Windows 7® based software. You will need access to, or to purchase, Microsoft Word® 2010, Microsoft Excel® 2010.
